Dining Chair

This Dinning Chair is a Cherry Brook Woodworks design. It draws from a few different styles: art nouveau, federal, and mid-century modern. While designing the chair, I decided it needed to be ebonized to eliminate the visual impact of the wood grain. The focus could then be shifted to the curves, the positive/negative space, and the movement created from these curves. The chair is made from maple, and the four curved splats are cherry colored to compliment the leather seat.
