Portsmouth Lolling Chair

This is a reproduction of a Portsmouth Lolling Chair. The original being made in Portsmouth, NH or Newburyport, MA. There are only three originals known to be in existence. It is a beautiful, delicate chair. The legs below the rail are reeded and terminate in cup casters. The place where the rails meet is in-layed with crotch satinwood veneer. Above the rail the leg is reeded and then fluted, and terminates into the curve transitioning to horizontal. It is reproduced from a photo.
