This Salem Federal Chair is an example of an exact period chair replication. The client had a set of four period chairs and wanted two arm chairs to fill out the set. Typically, arm chairs in period sets of chairs are slightly larger in height and width. The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, owns a set from Elizabeth Derby West who bought furniture in Salem and Boston Mass.
