These barrel back chairs are an example of exact chair replication by Cherry Brook Woodworks. The client had a set of 10 period hand made chairs and needed 14. I was given one chair and made four to match exactly and blend in to the existing original set. This was one of the most challenging commissions. The arms have a vertical helical twist and are cut from the solid, they are not steam bent. The back splat is curved to match the seat rail. The four chairs were color matched and distressed to match the original ten chairs. Which one is the original?
