This dinning chair is my own design. The design draws from a few different styles- Art Nouveau, Federal, and Mid century modern. While designing the chair, I decided it needed to be ebonized to eliminate the visual impact of the wood grain. The focus could then be shifted to the curves and positive/negative space created and the movement created from these curves. The chair is made from maple and the four curved splats are cherry colored to compliment the leather seat.
