This Federal plant stand is a rare form in American federal furniture. Reproduced from a photo in, “American Furniture, The Federal Period”, by Charles Montgomery, the plant stand is made entirely from Cuban mahogany. The top edges of the flower boxes as well as the legs have a reeded profile. The client was going to line the boxes with copper. This piece resides in Atlanta.
