Custom Furniture Ordering Process
If you’ve never ordered a custom-made piece of furniture before, don’t worry — the process is simple and personal from start to finish.
1. Initial Contact
The first step is to reach out to me — preferably by phone, as I find it’s the best way to discuss ideas and details. You can also contact me by email at any time. If you have photos of furniture styles or design elements you like, please include them. These images help me understand your vision, whether you’d like me to recreate something specific or combine ideas into a truly unique design.
2. Design & Approval
Before I begin building, I’ll prepare a detailed drawing — either full-scale or at a 3:1 scale, depending on the project. You’ll have the opportunity to review and approve the design before any work begins.
3. Materials & Finishes
Every piece I build starts with hand-selected materials. I source wood from trusted suppliers and can acquire unique, one-of-a-kind boards if your project calls for something truly special. I offer a wide variety of finishes and can mix 100% custom colors — no need to settle for a fixed palette. You’ll receive physical color samples to ensure the final look matches your vision perfectly.
4. Payment Terms
- For most projects, a 50% deposit is required to begin work, with the remaining balance due upon completion and before delivery.
- For larger projects, I require a 60% deposit to start, 30% prior to finishing, and the final 10% before delivery.
5. Timeline
Completion time varies depending on the complexity of the piece. On average, you can expect delivery within 60 to 90 days of the initial deposit.

I have shipped furniture all over the country and can assist you in choosing the best delivery service.
